One dead, one injured in single-vehicle rollover

GOLDEN VALLEY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Sunday traffic fatality in Golden Valley. Deputies responded at noon to the single-vehicle collision on Estrella Road near McElmo Drive.

Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said deputies determined the vehicle had been traveling about 60 miles an hour while northbound on Estrella.

“The vehicle traveled through a dip in the road and drifted to the right. the driver then over-corrected to the left, causing it to rotate counter clockwise,” Mortensen said. “The vehicle eventually left the roadway and rolled one time, landing upright.”

The driver, Stanton Taylor Edwards, 64, Golden Valley, was pronounced dead at the scene. Mortensen said a 16-year-old passenger was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
