One arrested following motorcycle chase

KINGMAN – A local resident was arrested following police chase of a motorcycle, followed by a foot pursuit and suspect capture. The Sunday, Oct. 13 incident began unfolding at about 6:15 when police officers responded to a shoplifting report at a business in the 3300 block of Stockton Hill Road.

Kingman Police Chief Rusty Cooper said officers were able to locate the motorcycle that had fled the shoplift several blocks away from the Goodwill store where the shoplift occurred.

“The driver of the motorcycle failed to stop, fleeing from pursuing officers. Officers discontinued pursuit,” Cooper said. “Minutes later officers located the motorcycle at a gas station in the 3200 block of Andy Devine Ave.”

Cooper said Gabriel Loop, 34, Kingman, ignored police commands and attempted to flee on foot.

“An officer deployed a taser,” Cooper said. “Loop was taken into custody and was found to be in possession of a concealed firearm and assorted drug paraphernalia.”

Loop was reportedly booked into the Adult Detention Facility for unlawful flight, resisting arrest, prohibited possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and for unrelated offenses associated with a Kingman Justice Court case.
