No mooring of boats in Bridgewater Channel and at city parks

LAKE H AVASU CITY – To help slow community spread of the COVID-19, effective Tuesday, March 31, 2020, mooring of boats on the shores of the Bridgewater Channel, including London Bridge Beach Park, and Rotary Community Park is prohibited. Anyone in violation is subject to civil sanctions, including a fine.

“The directives from the Governor’s Office restricts cities and towns from prohibiting access to recreational areas, but allows cities and towns to institute measures to protect the public.  The volume of boaters parking in the Bridgewater Channel makes it impossible for the public to maintain social distancing, as directed by the CDC.  Prohibiting mooring, or the parking of boats, on the shores of the Bridgewater Channel and at our City Parks is needed to protect the health and safety of our residents.  We are in this together, and together we will get through this,” said City Manager Jess Knudson.
