No injuries in house fire

LAKE HAVASU CITY – At approximately 2:00 a.m. on Friday, November 30 , a fire was reported by the homeowner in the 3000 block of Janet Drive. The occupants discovered fire in the garage and evacuated the residence.

The first arriving fire company reported heavy fire in the garage area with the fire quickly turning into defensive fire conditions. Five engine companies, one truck company, two battalion chief’s, and a division chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire within 80 minutes. There were no reported injuries.

A second alarm was called to bring in additional resources. This included Desert Hills Fire District who responded to the city to cover additional calls. CERT responded to the fire to assist with rehab duties for the firefighters. Crews remained on scene until late morning conducting overhaul operations and managing smoldering hot spots. Fire investigators responded to the scene and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
