New police chief Robert Trebes appointed

BULLHEAD CITY – Robert Trebes was sworn in as the new Bullhead City Police Chief, Thursday, during a special swearing-in ceremony held in the Bullhead City Council Chambers.

During the ceremony, Bullhead City Manager Toby Cotter expressed his confidence in Chief Trebes’ ability to be a great leader and his commitment to our community.

Chief Robert Trebes began his career in 2003 as a Corrections Officer for the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office for a short time before becoming a Deputy Sheriff with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.  In 2004, he joined the Bullhead City Police Department where he has worked in several positions including an officer in patrol, field training officer, training coordinator and a recruit training officer and class supervisor at the Western Arizona Law Enforcement Training Academy (WALETA). He also was the supervisor for the Office of Professional Standards, Support Services Division Commander, and as Acting Captain he oversaw the Operations Division. Chief Trebes has a Bachelor’s Degree in Police Administration and an Associate Arts Degree in History.

“I am very humbled and honored to be chosen to lead this police department and continue building our relationship with the citizens of Bullhead City,” said Chief Robert Trebes.

 Following the announcement of former Chief Brian Williamson’s retirement in August, 2020, City Manager Cotter appointed Captain Dennis DeSantis as the Interim Police Chief. Dennis DeSantis will assume the position of Deputy Chief until he retires in June, 2021.
