It is with great sadness that the family of Morton W. Tucker, Sr., age 85, passed away November 29, 2023. Morton was born on June 1, 1938, to Edward and Ida (Stiller) Tucker in Whiting, Indiana.
Morton graduated from George Rogers Clark High School in 1956. He attended Greer Technical School in Chicago, Illinois and graduated in 1957.
On June 14, 1958, Morton married Lorraine (Richter) Tucker and they had three children; Robin in 1959, Morton, Jr., in 1960 and Cheryl in 1963. Morton and Lorraine spend 65 years together on June 14, 2023. They celebrated their 50th anniversary on a cruise to the Hawaiian Islands with friends.
Throughout the majority of his working years, Morton was employed as a forklift driver in the warehouse in Hammond, Indiana, Unilever plant. After working for 34 years, he retired from Lever Bros. Co. (Unilever) in 1994.
Following retirement, he and his wife moved to Golden Valley, Ariz. For those of you that knew Morton, you know he loved his family. They took many trips back to Indiana to visit family and friends. He loved the church and was Chairman of Trustees and United Methodist Men’s President for a number of years.
Morton was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ida Tucker and Cheryl (Tucker) Hopkins who passed away in 1997. He is survived by his beloved Lorraine and his children; Robin (Tucker) Wilkening, Morton W. Tucker, Jr. He is also survived by his brother Sebert Tucker. In addition to his children, he is survived by three grandsons; Randy Wilkening, Jr., Christopher Wilkening, and Robert Tucker; and two great-granddaughters Lydia Wilkening and Eleanor Wilkening who will miss him dearly because he loved them so much.
A hold host of church friends, Boy Scouting friends and school reunion friends will all miss him dearly because of the love he had for them.
A celebration of life for Morton Tucker will be held Saturday, January 13, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church located at 1730 Kino Avenue in Kingman, Ariz., with lunch afterwards in the church hall next door.
