Morales arrests for discharging firearm

KINGMAN – No one was injured during a household gunfire incident early Sunday in Kingman. Police responded at 1:50 a.m. to a report of a man firing a weapon during a disturbance at a residence in the 900 block of Beverly Ave.

Kingman Police Chief Rusty Cooper said arriving officers encountered a number of subjects who had been drinking. He said witnesses reported that Henry Morales, 57, Kingman, fired a gun out the front door of the home during a dispute.

Morales initially failed to respond to police commands to surrender, according to Cooper.

“After several minutes, Morales exited the home and was taken into custody without incident,” Cooper said. “Officers located a .22 caliber handgun, spent shell casings and assorted drug paraphernalia.”

Morales reportedly admitted his involvement in the dispute-related gunfire. He was booked into the Adult Detention Facility for aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia and discharge of a firearm within the city limits.
