BULLHEAD CITY – A Bullhead City man who stabbed and killed his own mother at her breakfast table is going to prison for at least 16 years. That’s the minimum sentence possible for Kevin Proulx, a white supremacist who pleaded guilty September 24 to second degree murder in the Aug., 2019 death of Bette Jean Vaughn, 74.
Proulx, 45, could also get up to 25 years in prison when sentenced Oct. 29 by Judge Doug Camacho. Authorities have said Proulx was high on methamphetamine at the time of the stabbing, motivated by false suspicion that his mother had harmed his daughter.
