Mohave Historical Society Receives Art Donation

Receiving the artwork on behalf of the museum (L to R) Tommie Upton, Tom Saluzzo, Leah Stagg, Kelly Pickering, Sandy Fellows, Phyllis Eaton, Sue Snell, Brandon Turner, Robert Ballard, Karen Collins and Mert Glancy.

KINGMAN – The Mohave County Historical Society recently received a wonderful donation of Roy Purcell original artwork. Five pieces belonging to the collection of the late Dr. Reba Wells Grandrud, were donated by her daughter Nansi Martin.

These pieces were presented to the museum board on September 19th by Doctors Marshall and Jane Whitmire, longtime friends of Dr Grandrud. Purcell’s artwork is very well know and typically features landscape and mining scenes from Mohave and the surrounding counties. These pieces will soon be on display among the other 15 pieces Dr Grandrud donated in 2022. The Mohave Museum holds a special place in Purcell’s heart as well, he was director from 1967-1970.
