Mohave College men’s soccer wins conference championship, hosts first NJCAA postseason game

MOHAVE COUNTY – History is being made in northwestern Arizona as the Mohave College Bighorns Men’s Soccer team celebrates an incredible milestone – winning the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) Championship in just their second year of competition.

Just as exciting, they continue their pursuit of an NJCAA Championship hosting the first-ever postseason game in Mohave County.  The NJCAA Region 1 game was held after presstime, Tuesday, Oct. 28.  The Mohave College Bighorns hosted the Eastern Arizona College Gila Monsters.

“This is a tremendous accomplishment not only winning the ACCAC, but to do it with a perfect conference record and to finish with back-to-back wins against the #6 team in the country,” said Camilo Valencia, Director of Soccer Programs and Head Coach of the Bighorns Men’s Team. “This group has been resilient and engaged since day 1. We are very proud to represent our college and our community and want to share this title with all of Mohave County.”

The achievement is especially meaningful for the region, as Mohave College is home to the only college athletic program in northwestern Arizona. The Bighorns rapid rise to championship status has brought new energy, community pride and visibility to both the college and the region.

While regular season home games are free to attend, postseason games require an entry fee.

* $10 General Admission

* $7 Student Admission (All College students and anyone under 18 years old)

Tickets can be purchased upon entry at Firebird Field. Cash and card payments will be accepted.

Fans are encouraged to wear red, black and white and show their Bighorn pride as the team represents Mohave on the state and national stage.
