MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave College Corporate Education is offering Pathway to Safe Driving pre-permit driver education courses in Bullhead City, Kingman and Lake Havasu City this fall. The courses are designed to help new drivers build confidence, learn safe driving practices and prepare for the Arizona Department of Transportation permit test.
The Kingman course begins Oct. 12 and includes 20 hours of classroom instruction, realistic driving simulator practice and ADOT permit test preparation. Classes are 6-8 p.m. at the Mohave College Beale Street Center, 309 E. Beale Street, Room 106.
Students will learn about licensing, vehicle control, speed management, defensive driving, road conditions, intersections, parking, traffic signs and signals, emergency response, distractions, impairments, risk management, and written and road skills test preparation.
The Bullhead City course begins Oct. 13 and includes 20 hours of classroom instruction, realistic driving simulator practice and ADOT permit test preparation. Classes are 6-8 p.m. at the Mohave College Bullhead City Campus, 3400 Highway 95, Building 200, Room 203C.
Students will learn about licensing, vehicle control, speed management, defensive driving, passing and road conditions, intersections, parking, freeways, traffic signs and signals, emergency response, distractions, impairments, weather, risk management, and written and road skills test preparation.
The Lake Havasu City course begins Oct. 13 and includes 16 hours of classroom training designed to prepare students for the ADOT permit test. Classes are 6-8 p.m. at the Mohave College Lake Havasu Campus, 1977 Acoma Blvd. West, Building 500, Room 503.
Students will learn about driving regulations, safe driving and speed management, intersections, parking, freeway driving, traffic signs and signals, emergencies and collision prevention, distractions and impairments, risk management, decision making, and written and road test preparation.
The Lake Havasu City course costs $150, with registration required by Oct. 10, while the Kingman and Bullhead City courses cost $175. Registration is required by Oct. 9 for Kingman and Oct. 10 for Bullhead City. To register for any of the courses, visit Mohave.edu/Upcoming.
