Missing 81-year-old found safe

KINGMAN – A Kingman missing persons case ended in a positive outcome. Investigation began when it was learned that Maria Emerson, 81, didn’t return to her Kingman residence in the 2600 block of Louise Ave., which she left on foot sometime Saturday, July 18.

Concern was heightened because Emerson left her medications at home. Early investigation determined that she was seen exiting a public transportation bus near Walmart about 3:40 Saturday afternoon.

Kingman Police Chief Rusty Cooper said police learned Wednesday morning that Emerson was located unharmed in Las Vegas.

“Details of her journey to Las Vegas are not being release, however nothing is suspicious or criminal,” Cooper said. “We want to thank the Kingman area community for prayers, support and efforts to locate Maria.”
