Miller exits as interim Kingman City Manager

KINGMAN – Deputy Kingman City Manager Tina Moline will serve as Acting Manager until the city brings its new top administrator on board in the spring. Grady Miller served as Interim Kingman Manager since late Sept. in the aftermath of the firing of former manager Ron Foggin last Aug.

Miller has exited northwest Arizona for a new gig in the town of Cave Creek outside Phoenix. Miller addressed the Cave Creek town council and community following his first day on the job Monday, Feb. 5.

“To the residents who are here tonight, I’m sure that over time I’ll have an opportunity to work with you or help you or assist you with some of your matters or issues,” Miller told his new Council. “The bottom line is I’m very happy to be here.”

Miller told Cave Creek electeds his first day on the job there was much like his day one in Kingman.

“I spent a full day working with the staff trying to get acquainted with the organization,” Miller said. “It was very productive.”

Kingman’s search for a new top administrator is nearing the finish line. Council will be conducting interviews with semi-finalists for the Manager’s job in executive sessions scheduled Feb. 12 and 13.

Mayor Ken Watkins said he believes there are six candidates left in the field and one or two alternates. He expressed hope that a new city manager could be in office at City hall by late March, but he acknowledged it could take slightly longer to get there.
