Miles plans re-election bid

KINGMAN – Kingman mayor Jen Miles and her Bullhead City counterpart Tom Brady have different plans when their current terms of office expire late next year. Mayor Brady has said he’ll retire from politics while Miles said she fully intends to seek a third, 2-year term as mayor of Kingman.

“I intend to seek re-election,” Miles said Wednesday. She said no hardcore commitment is yet necessary because she said Kingman municipal office-seekers can’t begin circulating nominating petitions until January.

Miles said she wants to keep working to complete projects and initiatives as they move forward, and that securing another term in office would provide that opportunity. “As the old saying goes ‘God willing and the creek don’t rise,’ my intent is to do so.”

Other Kingman officeholders whose terms are expiring next year include Vice Mayor Ken Watkins and city council members Deana Nelson and SueAnn Mello.
