MHS Choir Festival is tonight

BULLHEAD CITY – Mohave High School’s award-winning choirs will hold a festival-themed spring concert tonight, Wednesday, March 4.  It is, according to choir and vocal music director Cameron Pruett, a representation of school choir competition season euphemistically referred to as ‘Festival.’

The performance begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Mohave High auditorium.  Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.  Proceeds benefit Mohave’s music program.

“There’ll be a smattering of genres such as French chanson, contemporary choral, samba, jazz ballad, musical theatre, cabaret, wild western, religious and seasonal,” said Pruett.  “This time of year is always fun because it is when most of the growth in these students happens.  They transform from who they were the previous year into what they will be for the next year.”

Tickets are available at the Mohave box office before show time.

Many of the choir students are also involved in Mohave’s upcoming “Broadway Comes to Bullhead” series production of Mary Poppins.  The 2007 Tony Award-winning stage production based upon the beloved 1964 Academy Award-winning Disney Film will be presented April 23-25 in the Mohave Auditorium.
