MCC student selected as 2024 Coca-Cola Academic Team Gold Scholar

Jennifer Schaefle is an MCC student on the Bullhead Campus and has been selected as a 2024 Coca-Cola Academic Team Gold Scholar, this means she has been awarded a $1,500 scholarship.

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College is proud to announce, Jennifer Schaefle has been selected as a 2024 Coca-Cola Academic Team Gold Scholar, this means she has been awarded a $1,500 scholarship.

Schaefle was one of 50 students across the country to have received this scholarship. This is the second time she has been honored by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation. In 2023 she was recognized as a Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar, which earned her a $1,000 scholarship. She will use the funds to pay for additional educational fees like books.

“I’m very proud and honored to be selected as a Gold Scholar on Coca-Cola’s Academic Team,” Schaefle said. “I feel like a racecar driver being recognized by Coca-Cola two years in a row.”

She’s a student on the MCC Bullhead Campus and will graduate in May with her associate’s degree in liberal arts. Schaefle will then transfer to Northern Arizona University where she will work toward earning her bachelor’s degree in chemistry. Her ultimate career goal is to become a faculty researcher in the field of chemical oceanography.

In February, she was named a 2024 All-Arizona Academic Team member where she earned a full-tuition scholarship to any public university in Arizona. On her campus, she is very active in student clubs. She’s the president of Student Activities Council and Phi Theta Kappa-Alpha Chi Psi chapter.

MCC is currently enrolling students in summer and fall classes. Get started by visiting the college website at Mohave.edu/Admission. Summer classes begin May 28 and fall classes start Aug. 19.
