MCC opens first-ever housing program for students

MOHAVE COUNTY – MohaveVillage.com is the website for Mohave Village Apartments – Mohave Community College’s new student housing complex on the Bullhead City Campus.  MCC is now accepting applications from its current students who would like to live on the Bullhead City campus. Applications must be submitted no later than Friday, June 14, 2024.

Students interested in living in the new Mohave Village Apartments or would like more information on the facility and should visit MohaveVillage.com. Housing applications may be submitted using the online and printable form on that site. A Residence Life Guidebook is scheduled to be made available on the site in June.

“The College is thrilled to announce the open application window for its brand-new student housing facility, Mohave Village Apartments,” said MCC President Dr. Stacy Klippenstein. “This project is a testament to the College mission and vision of serving our communities and empowering students to succeed. Mohave Village Apartments will transform the Bullhead City Campus and provide another housing resource for students.”

The student housing project features 10 units with approximately 60 beds. The project is currently in the final stages of construction and will also feature landscaped courtyards. The entire complex is approximately 17,500-square feet and complements the natural surroundings of the Bullhead City Campus.

The College began researching student housing in response to student requests, preliminary Facilities Master Plan results, community feedback and athletic program logistics. It was determined that student housing would benefit students, add a new revenue stream for the College and be a valuable asset for the community. The MCC Board of Governors approved the project during its May 2023 meeting.

MCC selected Kinney Construction Services, Inc., as its Design-Build Contractor. KCS is working with Todd & Associates, Inc., the project Architect. The Design-Build team was selected through a public solicitation process in May 2023.

Construction is expected to be completed in July 2024.

The College is currently enrolling students in summer and fall semesters. New and returning students are encouraged to start the enrollment process at Mohave.edu/Admission.

The application process is now open for students who would like to live in the region’s first-ever student housing on the Bullhead City Campus. MCC Student Housing, Mohave Village Apartments, are on schedule for completion in July 2024.
