Mask mandate ends

KINGMAN – The Kingman City Council voted 4-3 to repeal the mask mandate following 1:45 minute discussion during Tuesday’s meeting. Deana Nelson’s motion to rescind the mandate was supported by fellow council members SueAnn Mello Keener and Ken Watkins and Vice Mayor Travis Lingenfelter.

Mayor Jen Miles and council members David Wayt and Jamie Scott Stehly were in the minority.

While the city-wide mask mandate has been rescinded, face cover is still required for school districts and Mohave County buildings. Some businesses can operate as they wish, but gyms, movie theaters, restaurants and bars still must comply with Governor Doug Ducey’s directives, where applicable.
