KINGMAN — The cause of a Feb. 17 fire at the Economy Inn Motel is under investigation by the Kingman Fire Department. Personnel responded at 9:37 a.m. to the incident at 1250 West Beale Street.

Public Information officer Beth Matthews said a constable on the premises for another purpose was able to use an extinguisher to put out the fire before fire department personnel arrived on scene.

Matthews said a male was rescued from Room 203 and transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center for oxygen deprivation treatment.

“Crews conducted a thorough search of the affected area and remained on scene for overhaul operations to ensure complete extinguishment and eliminate any remaining hot spots,” Matthews said.

There were no injuries to firefighters or other first responders.
