KINGMAN – A Kingman man who faced life in prison is a free man after entering a plea agreement resolving allegations that he forced a six-year-old girl to perform sex acts three years ago. Bradley Manseau, 30, was released from the Mohave County Adult Detention Center after he entered a plea agreement and was sentenced Wednesday.
Lenient disposition results from the mother of the victim not wanting to put her daughter through the stress of a second trial. A hung jury was declared during Manseau’s trial last November because the panel could not reach unanimous verdicts.
“This little girl has gone through hell every single day because of the disgusting things he did to her,” the mother told Judge Billy Sipe. “He took her innocence away.”
The woman told the court that she witnesses her daughter’s pain and anguish every day. She said her daughter sometimes sobs and shakes uncontrollably and has nightmares that disturb her sleep.
Manseau also addressed Judge Sipe.
“I am absolutely innocent of these charges,” Manseau said. He said he looks forward to returning to his family after spending 894 days in jail.
“We are very happy to get this case resolved,” defense attorney Sandra Carr said.
Sexual assault and sexual conduct with a minor charges are dismissed in the deal that convicts Manseau of aggravated assault by domestic violence. The conviction will be designated as a misdemeanor should Manseau successfully complete two years’ probation.
