LAKE HAVASU CITY — Many of the churches in Havasu have ongoing weekly activities to attend for faith and socializing. You do not need to be an avid church goer if you’re new to Lake Havasu and just want to meet new people.
Lake Havasu Church of Nazarene
One of those congregations, is Lake Havasu Church of Nazarene. Led by Pastor Geoff Roediger since 2020, the church has a team of leaders for international missions, music, Sunday school, and even youth leaders. Each week the assembly provides events for everyone to explore, and they are open to the public. Every Tuesday, the organization hosts three activities, Coffee for Fellowship, Women’s Bible Study, and Men’s Bible Study.
The church’s Coffee for Fellowship invites anyone interested to a local restaurant for coffee, conversation, and connecting. The Women’s Bible Study was designed for learning scripture along with encouragement and support. Wednesdays is also a time for their midweek prayer meeting intended not only just for uplifting the church, but also the world. Similar to the congregation’s Tuesday gatherings for women, Thursdays have been set aside for Men’s Bible Study. On Thursdays, Nazarene has meetings that youths can participate in as well.
Midweek Kids Church is a program where kids can learn about the bible interactively with fun games. It’s also a great way to meet other children. Thursdays, the church has evening meetings for the teens of the community. These meetings are all about discussion, games, icebreakers, and survival or their high school years.
Lake Havasu Church of Nazarene’s weekly activities Coffee for Fellowship meetings take place every Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Carl’s Jr. while the Women’s Bible Study is on that same day from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday Prayer meetings are from 11 a.m. to noon at the church, 2700 Rainbow Ave. Thursday’s Men’s Bible studies are 8 to 9 a.m. and the Youth Gathering later that day is from 7 to 8 p.m.
Abundant Grace Church
Newbies arriving to Havasu might also be interested in Abundant Grace Church led by former Foothills Assembly of God Pastor Art Navarro. While the church does not offer ongoing weekly events, they always have creative monthly activities planned for the community. For the upcoming hot summer months, the church’s Guys Night Out is set for this June, along with Camp Wananohim coming up in July.
Guys Night will meet this week for friendly competition games like arcades and pool. Being yourself is encouraged while enjoying good food and conversations. Parents may want to check out Abundant church’s evening camp for children K through 6 this July. This will be a campfire themed night full of outdoor games, arts and crafts involving nature, snacks, and learning about faith under the stars.
Abundant Grace’s Guys Night Out will be taking place on Thursday, June 19 at 2738 Paso Verde in Lake Havasu. Their upcoming Camp Wanaohim will be on Monday, July 7 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Grace Episcopal Church
Another church worth exploring this season would be Grace Episcopal Church. Although the church is small and currently in need of a pastor, Grace Episcopal has two weekly activities for those seeking relaxation and calmness. Twice a week, the church has yoga classes for just $5 per person.
The public is welcome to attend the classes for individual consciousness, spiritual well being, and physical and mental health. The church also enjoys inviting all to their Center for prayer occasions each week. While the activity is only for twenty minutes, the church has created this space for quiet prayer amongst others to get in touch with self-reflection or providing prayer towards situations or others in need.
Yoga classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. in the Parish Hall and their Centering Prayer is every Wednesday at noon.
