Lies continue to divide the country

Dear Editor,

“The Enemy Within”, seems to be emanating mostly from those affiliated with the right! Oh brother the right is full of un-righteous indignation. The very idea their precious leader may actually be held accountable for his actions has their eyes bulging and teeth clenched. Gasp, horrors! Just imagine the unmitigated gall of the pesky majority of voters who opted for a change of leadership. Voters who finally grew silly sick and tired of the unending lies and incompetence of the Trump Administration.

Everyone beware! We are headed in the direction of socialism. Why just look how well we were doing under Trump. Never mind food lines are miles long because people cannot afford to even feed their families, or that unemployment figures are in the millions, or the government is forced to dole out (socialistic) “stimulus” checks for families’ basic necessities. But now the right would like us to take note that Trump has to drag his “cross” presumably because of lies, hate and deception, which by the way also came from Trump’s own mouth as well as through his actions.

Notice how the extreme right would like us to believe it is all the fault of those on the left? (Never ever take responsibility for your own actions). A conservative would like us to believe the assault on the Capitol was due to the left’s “woke propaganda and agenda”. I hear those on the right claim this was left wing radicals attacking the Capitol, including Limbaugh and Gorka’s radio audiences. However, when viewing the countless videos, all I saw were Trump flags. Now there is speculation some elected officials who sympathize with the Q anon and the proud boys, might have been complicit as well. I don’t understand the lies from the right, but there you have it along with plenty of hate and vitriol as well.

COVID-19 offers those on the right convenient excuses for the miserable effort to control the virus, although we are not learning, there was never any plan from the Trump administration on how to effectively deal with this pandemic. Seems the far right would like to believe Americans are too stupid to figure all this subterfuge out. Now the right would like to drop the Senate trial for his impeachment, because it will “divide us more”. Sure, let’s not hold anybody accountable for their actions, empty the prisons, that way Trump won’t have anybody else to pardon.
