LHCPD K-9 program update, fundraiser announcement

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Barbara Cross presents a check to Officer Brent Skancke for the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s K-9 program. Her efforts, along with the support of the community, raised thousands of dollars at the last fundraising event in December, solely for the purchase of the dog, training, and equipment for the program.

“Rocky”, a two-year old Springer Spaniel Narcotics Detection K-9, and Officer Skancke, are currently going through training together and within a few weeks, Rocky will help in the fight against illegal drugs in Lake Havasu City.

Barbara Cross, a Lake Havasu City resident and strong supporter of the program, is matching all donations up to $25,000 given to this cause, until the end of February 2020. Individuals interested in donating can make checks payable to the FOP (Fraternal Order of Police) Lodge #47, 2360 McCulloch Blvd. N. Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403.

A second fundraiser is held at College Street Brewery, located at 1940 College Drive in Lake Havasu City, on February 17, 18, and 19. College Street Brewery is donating 10% of their total sales for the three-day period to the K-9 program.  Please come out, enjoy a bite and a beverage and help support “Rocky.”
