Let’s Talk Fishin’ Tournament

LAKE HAVASU CITY – It was all in the spirit of creating treasured memories and good times at the Colorado Region fishing tournament. The tournament was organized by Let’s Talk Fishin,’ a group committed to improving the fishing sport through education, conservation, activities for the youth, and tournaments.

Their mission is to connect people with nature and ensure that aspiring fisher people have a chance to compete in competitions and enhance their skills. When it comes to the sport, The Let’s Talk Fishin’ staff has the experience and knowledge and aims for high fish release rates. Caring for the vertebrate is key for the group.

Their American Bass Association Colorado Region tournament started out as a windy morning that eventually died down for the participants. This made it easier to control bait lines and focus on the activity.

This was a catch and release tournament and winners were selected based on the size of the fish. Third place went to Scott Brownlie and Matt Dennison who caught bass at the weight of 16.54.

Zack Hayes and Logan Maltese got second place with their 17.16 catch.  First place went to father and son team Dean and Austin Rojas with their bass catch that weighed 20.21 pounds.

The competition took place on Saturday, January 6 at Havasu Lake Windsor Ramp. These tournaments were created as a way for individuals who love to fish to meet others that share that same passion for the sport.
