Las Vegas man charged in Littlefield fatal crash

LITTLEFIELD – A Las Vegas man was arrested after fleeing the scene of a fatal two vehicle collision in the northern Arizona community of Littlefield on Christmas Eve. Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies responded at 6:22 p.m. to the crash near mile marker 3 on Highway 91.

MCSO spokesperson Anita Mortensen said investigation revealed a north bound Ford truck crossed the center line, striking a south bound Toyota truck.

“The driver and sole occupant of the Ford, later identified as Michael Dolan, 46, Las Vegas, ran from the scene,” Mortensen said. “Deputies immediately searched the area and found Doan to be hiding a short distance from the crash.”

Mortensen said Doan exhibited signs of impairment from alcohol. He was transported to Kingman and jailed for second degree murder and aggravated assault charges.

The driver of the Toyota, whose name is initially withheld, was pronounced dead at the crash scene. A passenger in that vehicle was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Mortensen said that the investigation continues and additional charges are pending.
