Lake Mead 2019 Photo Contest winner announced

BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The winner of the 2019 Love Your Lakes photo contest is Terry Maurer of @insightoflifephotography.

Her photo of a person kayaking with a dog wearing a life jacket in the Black Canyon was unanimously selected as the favorite and will appear as the featured photo on the 2020 Lake Mead National Recreation Area annual pass.
The park received over 250 entries, which included both photos and captions from people explaining why they love Lake Mead and Lake Mohave.
Maurer’s caption read: “Anticipation. It’s the Not Knowing what’s ahead that keeps us moving…keeps us peeking around the corners of ‘what ifs’…be it floating into a hidden landscape or driving hard to manifest a dream, it’s the anticipation of possibility that keeps life dynamic. I wonder what today will bring?”

In addition to having her photo featured on the pass, Maurer will receive a 2020 annual park pass, courtesy of the Lake Mead Circle, the park’s non-profit partner.
