Musician Tyler Halsy scheduled to perform on Labor Day weekend at Iron Wolf & Golf & Country Club.
LAKE HAVASU CITY – Kick off your Labor Day weekend while checking out some of Lake Havasu’s live music performances. This year, many of the local venues will have a variety of entertainers with music styles ranging from, rock, country, and mellow tunes.
One of the performers to be on the lookout for is Pam Harkness. Originally from North Dakota, the singer and guitarist developed an interest in singing with her best friend at age sixteen. Harkness recalls the first song she learned how to play on the guitar being ‘House of the Rising Son,’ by The Animals, because of the song’s simplistic style of only having one chord. The singer moved to Lake Havasu in the mid 1980s and when she retired from her banking career in 2010, she took up singing at first as a retirement hobby. Harkness has previously performed at Shugrue’s Restaurant and Brewery Group and ChaBones. The vocalist sings cover songs done by legendary musicians like Smokey Robinson, Fleetwood Mac, and even puts a spin on Astrud Gilberto’s classic ‘The Girl From Ipanema’ by singing it as, ‘The Boy from Ipanema,’ for audiences.
If your music taste is more rock and country style, Chuck Briseno is the singer you will want to see. The South Texas singer thanks his grandfather for jump starting his passion for music. Briseno remembers that he would often play guitar and sing love songs to Briseno’s Grandma Ofelia. The experience inspired the singer to begin writing his own songs and teach himself how to play guitar. In 2019, is when the musician’s career really began to flourish. He traveled on the road and launched his first album titled “You Should Be Mine.” Today, Briseno performs regularly in states like Texas, Montana, and California. The genre of his performances is a mix of original songs as well as cover songs for Toby Keith, Tom Petty, and Motley Crue.
One Kentucky musician that might be a familiar face among Mohave County would be singer Tyler Halsey. With his fond memories of music fueled family gatherings as a child, Halsy has been performing since the age of 16. His ongoing performances occur Wednesdays through Sundays in Bullhead City and Parker. Halsy enjoys singing the top forty hit singles from today’s country era. Dive into your long weekend by paying a visit to these performances.
Pam Harkness will be performing on Thursday, August 29 and Friday, August 30, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at The Views at Lake Havasu. You can find Chuck Briseno’s show on Thursday, August 29, and Friday August 30 beginning at 7 p.m. at Flying X Saloon.
