KINGMAN –The Mohave County Department of Public Health and Kingman Regional Medical Center have published two reports about health in Mohave County. The 2025 Mohave County Community Health Needs Assessment and the 2025-2028 Mohave County Community Health Improvement Plan are now available on both entities’ public websites.
Both the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) are part of an ongoing community initiative called “Live Well Mohave” to improve health and quality of life in Mohave County communities.
Since 2012, the Mohave County Department of Public Health and Kingman Regional Medical Center have partnered to lead the Live Well Mohave initiative, prompted by aligning agency requirements. Every three years, this initiative engages various community groups, local governments, and healthcare allies in Mohave County to evaluate community health.
The CHNA seeks to determine the status of public health in the county through the collection of both qualitative and quantitative data. The process involved key informant interviews, a community survey, and community focus groups, as well as analysis of public health information.
The CHIP is a long-term, strategic initiative aimed at addressing the public health issues identified in the CHNA. Among the priorities for 2025-2028 were improving access to healthcare and increasing resources for children and youth.
The result is a comprehensive effort to improve quality of life for people and families in Mohave County. Through collaboration across all sectors of our community, the effort encourages the effective use of limited resources for addressing unmet community health needs.
