KINGMAN — The streets of historic downtown Kingman will come alive with history, culture, and celebration during the 55th Annual Andy Devine Parade, set to take place on Saturday, September 27th at 10am sharp. This legacy event promises to bring together residents, visitors, and dignitaries in a vibrant display of community pride.
The parade, which was first formally organized in 1970, has long been a cornerstone of Kingman & Mohave County’s traditions. Featuring dozens of floats, numerous marching bands, local civic and educational organizations, native cultural performances and classic automobile exhibits, this year’s celebration will honor the past with the theme, “How the West Was Won.”
There is still time to submit your entry and be a part of this exciting event. There is no cost to enter the parade or for viewing. Parade entrys can be obtained online at the cityofkingman.gov website or in person at the Parks & Recreation Office. Submission must be returned to the Kingman Parks and Recreation Office at 3333 Harrison St. or may be faxed to (928) 757-1766.
The City of Kingman has announced the 2025 Parade Grand Marshal, Jean Bishop.
Bishop first worked as a dispatcher for the Kingman Police Department in 1977, before serving several years as a reserve officer and later becoming a Mohave County Sheriff’s deputy in 1988 attaining the rank of Sergeant. Bishop subsequently served two terms as constable, and served 10 years on the Mohave County Board of Supervisors and retiring from public service at the end of her last term in 2024. She also served as the Secretary of the State Constables Association and Fraternal Order of Police. Additionally, she served on the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission and the Arizona Commerce Authority. In retirement Bishop continues to be active in the county and enjoys traveling this great country she so honorably served for over 30 years.
The parade route will begin at Locomotive Park and will proceed down Beale St, with preferred viewing between 1st, 5th and Oak streets. Spectators are encouraged to arrive early to secure the best viewing spots. Road closures will occur early that moring and parking is available on Andy Devine Ave. and adjacent side streets, or the Powerhouse Visitors Center.
