KINGMAN, Ariz. – Having sex with a teenager and possessing child pornography brings a decade in the Arizona Department of Corrections for a Kingman man. Dakota Demay, 28, was sentenced Oct. 2 for a plea agreement convicting him of a charge reduced to attempted sexual conduct with a minor for engaging in sex with a girl he knew was 14 years old in May.
Demay also pleaded guilty to three counts reduced to attempted sexual exploitation of a minor for the child porn material found in his cell phone.
Defense attorney Daniel Christian said Demay made no excuses and conceded he messed up when confronted by investigators. Demay declined to speak at his sentencing.
Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle directed Demay to serve lifelong probation once he completes his 10-year prison term.
