KINGMAN — The Kingman Moose Lodge distributed 100,000 pairs of socks to local charities in Kingman on Monday, June 23. Donations were secured by SpreadPeace.org, a national 501(c)3 based in Las Vegas that has shared more than 734,000 meals for the homeless and those living in poverty.
SpreadPeace.org coordinated with the Moose Lodge, who distributed the socks to 12 local charities including Daughters of the Revolution, Veteran Villas, Kingman Food Bank, Angel Manor, and Kingman Aid to Abused People (KAAP).
Local church groups that attended include St. Vincent de Paul, Foursquare Church, and Cornerstone Mission. Cerbat Elementary was not present on Monday but will also be receiving small-sized socks to distribute to local children.
The socks were donated by Bombas, a company popularized by Shark Tank, which donates one pair of socks for every one sold. According to the company’s website, Bombas has donated over 150 million socks.

The Moose Lodge also intends to distribute additional socks throughout the year to senior living centers and other places. Deon from Echo Storage Options provided the conex that allowed the Moose Lodge to store the socks until they were ready to be distributed.
“Last year, they took up our whole dining room,” said Shirley McCoy, who coordinated the effort by the Moose Lodge. She says that next year, they may secure underwear and T-shirts as well.
