Kingman man sentenced to seven-year prison term for child pornography

Imposition of a seven-year prison term resolves a Kingman man’s child pornography case. The punishment imposed during an April 4 sentencing hearing was prescribed in a plea agreement convicting Dylan Sturgin, 20, of three counts reduced to attempted sexual exploitation of a minor.

Five sexual exploitation of a minor charges are dismissed in the plea deal approved by Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle.

A tip from the International Crimes Against Children task force about child porn downloading activity early last year led to a Mohave County Sheriff’s investigation. Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said thumb and flash drives, laptops and a cellphone were among the electronic devices seized during a December 10, 2024 search of Sturgin’s residence in the 3700 block of Rainbow Drive.

A prosecutor indicated that the conviction counts involve three short videos discovered on Sturgin’s cell phone that featured underage minors engaging in various sexual activity.

Judge Carlisle also ordered lifetime post-prison probation, along with sex offender registration protocols.
