KINGMAN — A 2.5-year prison term has been ordered for a Kingman man who admitted groping two young girls at a residence in the 3800 block of North Evans Street. The punishment imposed during a Feb. 27 sentencing hearing was stipulated in a plea agreement for Christopher Hinson.

Hinson, 36, is convicted of two counts of sexual abuse for illegal touching activity involving girls aged 11 and 12.

“He was struggling with mental health and deviant sexual behavior issues,” Public defender Paul Amann told Mohave County Superior Court judge Derek Carlisle. He said that Hinson is remorseful and that the defendant hopes the victims can overcome challenges they’ve faced resulting from his misconduct.

Carlisle ordered Hinson to serve probation for 15 years after he completes his prison sentence.
