Kingman Area Food Bank receives UniSource grant

KINGMAN –  On Friday, the Kingman Area Food Bank received notice that UniSource Energy Services has approved a grant in the amount of $5,000 to assist with food bank operations. This new grant is one of many that the local energy service has provided to help feed the hungry in Mohave County.

This unrestricted grant will assist in funding operations for the Kingman Area Food Bank. They feed 30 to 50 families daily with about 150 to 200 pounds of food. Their operations receive support from many community businesses, which helps them serve the great need in Mohave County.  In the year ending June 30, 2020, they received and distributed more than 1.4 million pounds of food to the Mohave Community.

Their warehouse and store receives no funding from government and relies on support from the community to exist. Without help from UniSource and other community partners, their ability to accomplish our mission of providing food to Mohave County residents would be significantly less effective.

For more information regarding this donation or the food bank, please contact Mark McGregor at 928-757-4165, or at 2930 E Butler Avenue in Kingman Arizona 86409 or by email at esdirkfb@gmail.com.
