LAKE HAVASU CITY – You might remember her as one of the news anchors on KSAZ-TV in the 1990s.
It was in 2021, Lake stepped down from that position prior to announcing her governor candidacy in the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial election.
With the endorsement of President Trump, Lake won the Republican nomination. The youngest of nine children, Lake grew up in Iowa and received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa. Even though Lake lost the election to Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, Lake became a trailblazer by starting the Save Arizona Fund.
The fund’s mission is to seek answers regarding the elections in Arizona. During her campaign, Lake visited Lake Havasu which is where she met David Diaz. Diaz, who is president of the Lake Havasu City Republican Men’s Club, arranged Lake’s book signing on September 17 at the Aquatic Center in Lake Havasu City.
Lake’s book titled Unafraid was released in June of this year. It is a story of Lake’s beliefs that the citizens are the conclusive source of authority in government. Unafraid is also a story of Lake’s perseverance in her news casting career as well as her campaign journey.
The Lake Havasu City Republican’s Men’s Club is a political group that formed in 1980. The group has weekly meetings that keeps the public up to date on current politics and plans of Mohave County.
