Dear Editor,
I realize that this is not a time to be bringing up politics and the 2020 elections, however, it seems to me that there is some very fancy footwork going on in our nation’s capitol. Rumor has it that the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, does not want to call the House of Representatives back into session until after the first of the year.
Interesting!
As I understand it, and I freely admit I may be wrong, if the Speaker of the House wants to, she can delay the election until whenever she wants using the COVID-19 as an excuse. Without an election does the current president stay in place until the next election?
Not to my understanding. As I understand it, under crisis conditions both the current president and the vice president are out and the Speaker of the House becomes president until a new election is held.
Again, interesting, as that makes Nancy Pelosi president. No wonder she isn’t in any hurry to re-open the House, let alone try to put off the November election!
Just wondering!
