John Holland Shuffler

John Holland Shuffler, 75, passed away in Kingman, Arizona on May 24, 2024.

John was born on June 30,1948 in Dallas,Texas to Billy and Irene Shuffler. The Shuffler family moved to Kingman in 1964. John graduated from Mohave County Union High School in Kingman, Arizona, in 1967. After high school he worked for his father at Shuffler and Kerley Construction in Kingman and then in Lake Havasu City. He married Paula Hafley in 1968 and started a family. He returned to Kingman in 1977 and resided there until his passing, John was a partner in several Kingman area businesses including:  B.L. Shuffler and Sons Construction, Kingman Millworks, Kingman True Value, Pioneer Chicken, Billy’s Gas, and Cerbat Lanes. 

John valued hard work, honesty, integrity, and took a man at his word. To his children, he was loving but fair. He instilled his values in them as well as the importance of their education and contribution to community. At different periods in his life he was an avid bowler, golfer, hunter, and fisherman. He was generous with his time and support and a dear friend to many. John was an active member of the Kingman Elks Lodge #468.    

John is survived by his children; Karyn Shuffler (Larry) Green of Henderson, Nevada, Kelly Shuffler (Patrick) Moore of Kingman, Arizona, and Stephen S. Shuffler of Kingman, Arizona; his loving companion, Joann D’Angelo of Kingman, Arizona; former wife Paula Shuffler; sister Barbara A. Ricca, and brothers Paul W. Shuffler and G. Scott Shuffler of Kingman, Arizona. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Ashlyn (Kevin) Newell, Giancarlo Narvarte, Marcoantonio Narvarte, Diego Narvarte, Chad Moore, Noelle (Mitchell) Morton, Connor Steffensen, and Elise Steffensen, as well as one great-granddaughter, Adalynn Newell. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lettie Walterine (Irene) Shuffler; father, Billy L. Shuffler; and granddaughter Kailey Shuffler.

A memorial service and celebration of life is scheduled for Sunday, June 2 at the Kingman Elks Lodge beginning at 1:00pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate John’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Kingman Elks Lodge.
