LAKE HAVASU CITY – Workplace harassment is an unfortunate experience that many have faced in a variety of different employment environments. Fractional Human Resources Consultant of HRX Professional Consulting LLC Sabrina Steinback provided answers with the community last week, about how to resolve workplace harassment and transform uncomfortable experiences into healthier relationships on the job.
The Cultivating a Healthy Workplace by Preventing Harassment a Discrimination event took place on Thursday, May 30 at Nomadic Coworking Space. Steinback has two decades of extensive experience in the human resources industry. She has been trained in personnel issues such as recruitment, talent management, onboarding, and employee relations.
In her diversified career background, the consultant has provided her services in retail, healthcare, construction, nonprofits, and several other fields. It was in 2019, that Steinbeck opened her own human resources consulting firm in the greater Seattle, Washington area.
The following year, effects of the pandemic made Steinback take notice of the need for virtual HR services within companies. She then expanded her talents to other businesses outside of her network virtually.
The Cultivating a Healthy Workplace by Preventing Harassment and Discrimination discussion provided educational answers on defining what harassment is and what it is not.
The free to the public event also identified the many different ways to recognize various discrimination scenarios that can occur in the workplace.
Discrimination issues can range anywhere from age, ethnicity, gender, individuals with disabilities, sexual orientation, and expecting mothers.The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) was defined during the discussion as being the organization that enforces fair treatment for everyone in the workplace.
Other learning objectives addressed involved knowing what your rights are as an employee, correct procedures on how to report harassment, and employer responsibility.
Steinback included engaging and fun group activities during her discussion followed by a pop quiz to test the knowledge of attendees.
As a new resident of Lake Havasu City, the dedicated consultant is already recognizing the need for her services within the community. She is ready to dive in and hopes to help the businesses of Lake Havasu with their Human Resources needs.
