Hawaiian Grill opens in Kingman

KINGMAN, Ariz. – A new eatery offering island style lunch and dinner cuisine will be opening July 13 in Kingman. The Niu Valley Hawaiian Grill is located at 3416 Stockton Hill Road, between the Hobby Lobby and Bosa Donut outlets that will also open this month.

Keith Lawther and his sister Lehua co-own the family enterprise that will employ about a dozen people. He said citizens who’ve been stopping in are eager to try out the new dining option.

“They’re pumped. We’re pumped. They’ve been coming by and asking questions,” Lawther said. “It’s been a long road, but we’re getting there. We’re excited.’’

Customers will order and work their way through a serving line.

“It’s a Chipotle-style thing. It’s quick service. You pick your starch, you pick your meat and you pick your side,” Lawther said. “With our plate lunch you usually get two scoops of rice and this cold macaroni salad we make as a side.”

Teriyaki beef, teriyaki chicken, a Japanese style fried chicken, pork and other meat selections are offered. Desert choices include banana bread, chocolate chips and butter mochi.

The grill will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and closed on Sundays.
