Havasu Silent Witness seeks additional board members

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Havasu Silent Witness is seeking local residents to serve as volunteer members on the Board of Directors. Formed in 2000, Havasu Silent Witness endeavors to make a positive impact on crime in Lake Havasu City. Members are dedicated to creating a safer community by working in partnership with citizens, media, and the Lake Havasu City Police Department. While the Havasu Silent Witness Board works closely with the Lake Havasu City Police Department, it is a separate, community-based 503(c)(3) non-profit organization. All rewards paid out are funded through private donations from the community and community-based fundraisers.

Members of the Silent Witness Board support local law enforcement by encouraging citizen participation in the prevention and solution of crimes. The Board meets approximately six times a year and provides oversight of cash rewards, organizational fundraising activities, and receives information on local crime trends. There are four officer positions on the Board: Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, and Treasurer. The Board also consists of at-large members that participate in the organization’s business decisions and activities.

Lake Havasu City residents interested in serving on the Havasu Silent Witness Board are encouraged to contact Lieutenant Joe Harrold at 928-855-1171 for an interview. Prospective Havasu Silent Witness Board members must pass a minimal criminal background check.
