Havasu drug dealer takes plea deal

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A drug dealer from Lake Havasu City has entered a mandatory prison plea agreement to prevent the longer sentence he would receive if convicted of all counts at trial. Scott Holdren, 54, pleaded guilty on Sept. 1 to possession of dangerous drugs for sale and misconduct involving weapons.

Prosecutor Jacob Cote informed the Court that Holdren was the subject of a July 7 traffic stop on McCulloch Blvd., south of highway 95. He said officers confiscated a handgun from the vehicle and that Holdren was a prohibited possessor by virtue of a prior felony conviction.

Cote said officers also seized 200.3 grams of methamphetamine. The plea deal requires Mohave County Superior Court Judge Rick Lambert to order a 7.5-year prison term during a September 28 sentencing hearing.
