Guy gets four years for drug possession

A judge in Kingman has ordered a four-year prison sentence for a Bullhead City woman who possessed a half-ounce of methamphetamine when arrested last June at 1775 Lakeside Drive. Through a plea agreement Lindsay Rae Guy, 29, was convicted of the reduced charge of attempted possession of dangerous drugs.

Defense attorney Michael Beane told Mohave County Superior Court Judge Rick Lambert that Guy’s criminal history is connected to her drug addiction. He asked that she be given a minimal prison sentence so she could get counseling.

Judge Lambert noted prior felony convictions in a 2009 marijuana case. The Judge chose the higher end of a sentencing range that capped prison at five years.
