Grace Women’s Ministry providing warmth in the community

KINGMAN – The Grace Lutheran Church Women’s Ministry has had a long commitment to those in need in the community.

Every quarter, quilts and layettes are blessed and distributed. Layettes go to Kingman Regional Medical Center and to the Advice and Aid Pregnancy Center. Extra baby blankets and clothing and sometimes diapers go to the Pregnancy Center as well.

In support of the literacy program started at Grace last year, every layette contains a baby’s book. Hundreds of books were blessed and distributed through Head Start and other agencies in the community.

October 8, the Grace Women’s Ministry blessed 24 layettes, five veteran’s kits, and 61 additional blankets. The blankets are distributed to hospice, the Lingenfelter Center, and the dialysis center on Airway Ave. There is also a blanket in every layette and veteran’s kit.

This group of blankets included some made specifically for the children at Grace Lutheran’s daycare center. They were made with love by the MBAS sewing group that meets weekly at the church. Each blanket and layette is lovingly created with prayers for the recipient!
