KINGMAN – Grace Lutheran Church in Kingman is celebrating its 60th anniversary on October 13, at a 9 a.m. worship service. Following the service, there will be a fellowship gathering to share history, stories, guest speakers and, of course, food.
The church first gathered in March of 1963 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, later moving to the Van Marter Mortuary Hall. Grace Lutheran was formally organized in March of 1964 with the Rev. Arthur Mees serving as Pastor. In April of that year, groundbreaking began on an A-frame sanctuary on Harrison Ave. and the first service on July 12. The current sanctuary was completed in August of 2001. The current Pastor is Rev. Ken Miller. Former pastors have been invited to participate in this celebration.
Grace Lutheran has supported a preschool since 1980 and a Child Development Center since 2013. Church activities include bible studies, fellowship events, youth ministries, music ministries which include choir and a bell choir. The family at Grace shares in a wide variety of outreach ministries which support Cornerstone Mission, Kingman Area Food Bank, local nursing care centers, veteran services, a sister church in Sawe, Tanzania and much more.
Grace Lutheran invites all to join in this celebration of growth in Kingman. Peace be with you.
The church is located at 2101 E. Harrison Ave.
