Golden Valley man charged with multiple felonies, misdemeanor charges

GOLDEN VALLEY – Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies arrested Larry Earl Edmondson, 23 of Golden Valley, for criminal damage, second degree escape, destruction to a jail, all felonies; marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession, both misdemeanors; and an active arrest warrant.

On Wednesday, Sept. 4 at approximately 5 p.m., deputies responded to a business in the 4000 block of Highway 68 in reference to a criminal damage call. The reporting party advised that she arrived at the business and observed the ashtrays and trashcans had been thrown around the parking lot. A short time later the victim attempted to turn on the neon sign, which she then observed was broken.

Deputies arrived on scene and the victim showed them the video surveillance of the incident, which showed a white, male subject going through the trashcans and ashtrays, then throwing them around the property. The man then throws a beer bottle at the sign, causing the damage. The victim estimated the cost to repair the sign would be approximately $1,000.

On Thursday, Sept. 4, deputies responded to a business in the 5000 block of Highway 68 in reference to a man threatening customers. Deputies observed that the man was the same from the surveillance video of the criminal damage and identified him as Edmondson and that he had an active arrest warrant. While being processed in for his charges, Edmondson was seated near an entry door, and attempted to run out the door when a staff member exited. The door secured before Edmondson could reach it, and Edmondson was immediately detained and relocated to a holding cell.

At about 8 p.m. that evening, deputies were called back to the jail in reference to Edmondson breaking the window of the holding cell door. Detention officers advised that Edmondson, who was alone in the cell, was observed throwing his food tray at the window several times before the glass broke. The estimated cost to repair the window was approximately $800.
