LAKE HAVASU CITY – Hospice of Havasu will be welcoming the holiday season with their annual Friends of Hospice Holiday Boutique on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 10 and 11. Hospice of Havasu provides care for individuals with terminal illnesses and comfort to the families of the patients. Their goal is to provide a nurturing environment that will allow residents to maintain a fulfilling life.
Hospice of Havasu staff works alongside clinical staff, pharmacist, and bereavement employees that are trained to create individualized health plans. The team ensures that the loved ones and family members are actively involved with the care of the patients. The not-for-profit facility gives all profits and donations back into their patient care and support groups such as their caregiver counseling program and grief support group.
Friends of Hospice Holiday Boutique gives the volunteers for the Hospice of Havasu a chance to share their creative talents. The two-day boutique event will have accessories for your pets, kitchen items, homemade quilts, and unique hand made products. Let’s not forget the homemade baked treats and plenty of other holiday gift ideas.
Raffle tickets will be available for purchase for $5 for six tickets and a chance to win beautifully hand-crafted quilt. Last year, the organization raised $20,000.
Friends of Hospice Holiday Boutique will be on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 10 and 11 at Columbian Hall located at 186 London Bridge Rd. Hours are Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Community Outreach Director Michelle Gardia feels that it’s the volunteers that make the occasion so eventful and special. “We have a dedicated group of volunteers who use funds from their own pockets to make sure that the events are a success,” said Gardia. All proceeds of the event help benefit Hospice of Havasu, their programs, and community services.
