Former Havasu museum director charged with misuse of funds

Interior of courtroom

LAKE HAVASU CITY — Its former director has been charged with siphoning funds from the Lake Havasu Museum of History. A Lake Havasu City Justice Court complaint charges Hannah Rangel, 48, with three counts of theft.

A Probable Cause (PC) statement alleged Rangel used a work-related credit card to pay a personal motorcycle repair bill of more than $1,000 on October 17, 2020. It alleged she used Museum funds on September 23, 2021 to pay a $2,862.50 bill associated with her fiance’s funeral bill to the Featheringill Mortuary in San Diego, California.

“Defendant had used a check from the organization on September 29, 2021 to pay for her $1,500 deposit on her condo at Queen’s condos in Lake Havasu,” the PC statement said.

The Mohave County Attorney’s Office indicated it is unclear whether Rangel has been served the complaint as of yet. And whether Rangel has legal counsel and any arraignment date is also unknown.
