Foothills Bank donates $10,000 to support Mohave College students

MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave College Foundation announced a $10,000 donation from Foothills Bank, a division of Glacier Bank, Member FDIC, to support student success through the Foothills Bank Scholarship Fund.

The gift will provide scholarships for students enrolled in the College’s career and technical education certificate programs, helping reduce financial barriers while preparing students for in-demand careers throughout Mohave County.

Gabe Smither, left, Regional President of Foothills Bank, presents a $10,000 donation to Becky Zimberlin, right, Foundation Operations & Philanthropy Manager for Mohave College Foundation & College Advancement, to support Career and Technical Education students at Mohave College.

Under scholarship guidelines, preference will be given to students participating in rapid reskilling programs that lead to high-demand workforce opportunities. Awards may be used for tuition and other program-related costs.

Gabe Smither, regional president of Foothills Bank, presented the donation to Becky Zimberlin, foundation operations and philanthropy manager for Foundation and College Advancement.

“It is a privilege to serve on the Mohave College Foundation Board as a representative of Foothills Bank,” Smither said. “Giving back to the communities we call home is at the heart of what we do, and helping make education more accessible for local students and families is especially meaningful.”

“The Foundation is incredibly grateful to Foothills Bank for its investment in students and the community,” Zimberlin said.

Through partnerships with local businesses and community supporters, the Mohave College Foundation helps expand educational opportunities and strengthen pathways to career success for students across Mohave County.

The Foundation appreciates Foothills Bank’s commitment to workforce development and student achievement and looks forward to the positive impact the scholarship fund will have on future recipients.
