KINGMAN, Ariz. – Kingman’s newest eatery opened for business on Monday. The Flame Broiler offers Korean-influenced rice bowls right next to Bashas’ at 3358 E. Andy Devine Avenue.
“We’re super excited. We’ve been prepping all week for this grand opening,” said Krista Farney, who co-owns the restaurant along with Gabriel Montiel. “Being born and raised here in Kingman, I understand everybody wants to try something new, so we have gone to great lengths to make sure that we have all the food we need and we are ready to go.”
Farney said there are 126 Flame Broilers operating in southern California, Texas, Oklahoma and Arizona. She said rice bowls with Korean flavors represent new food fare for Kingman.
“You have your base of white rice, brown rice and vegetables. Add in your protein – steak, chicken, tofu – and then of course we have some extra limited time offers. We’ve got KBBQ right now. We’ve got Kimchi, along with a couple other items.”
“We have the special sauces that go on top. We have our own magic sauce. We’ve got our own hot sauces, our Seoul scorcher and you can also get a really great spicy chicken as well,” Farney said.
The Flame Broiler has opened with 25 employees and six positions are reserved for local teenagers working their first jobs. She said she’s proud to be part of a chain with a community commitment.
“We have a huge foundation with Flame Broiler to help the youth, feed the youth. We have such a hunger problem in this country,” Farney said. “So I am very excited to be a part of a franchise that recognizes that. We are all more than willing to help and do what we can, both locally and nationally.”
The Flame Broiler will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
