Firefighter injured in house fire

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Three Lake Havasu City firefighters reportedly sustained injuries while battling a residential structure fire over the weekend. Crews responded at about 3:10 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24 to the incident in the 300 block of Silverado Dr.

“The occupants were alerted by the smoke detectors, discovered smoke coming from the closet area of the master bedrooms and exited the structure,” a news release said. “The first arriving fire company reported a working fire with smoke coming from multiple locations of the residence as well as the attic vents.”

Personnel reportedly gained control of the fire within 90 minutes. Officials did not indicate the nature of the injuries suffered by firefighters, but reported one of them was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

No civilians were injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
